Within the two weeks of learning in the masters program of vocational Pedagogy I acquired some knowledge which I feel in the long run will help improve my skills in the teaching profession. I first felt that this masters program is out of my qualification but to my understanding, I’m on the right truck.
I am able to learn different methods of learning that is by sharing experience from people of different age, background, sex and professions, observing learners in vocational Institution transfer theory into Practical and where their instructors performs the same task several times there after he/she becomes an expert.

My motivation for joining the Masters Degree program
Knowledge is the key in any development and peace in an area which has been in war for twenty one years. Many people could not go to school or father their Education. I am very grateful if given the opportunity of doing the masters degree in vocational and technical education, being a trainer in one of the vocational training centre in Yei River County, Central Equatorial State Southern Sudan ( Yei Agricultural Training Centre) established by the Norwegian people’s aid with an aim of building the capacity of agriculturalists who could not do their profession during the war and Agriculture Extension workers, these are people trained in basic agricultural skills or trainer of trainer in agriculture basic principles. After training they go and train the farmers in basic agriculture them to improve on food security in Sudan. People attending the training are from all the states of the Southern Sudan, this means that it will not be only me trained with my other collogues but the whole Nation.
Many young people in Sudan were not able to continue with their Education due to the war, some drop out of school due to lack of school fee, up keep, but they are capable of doing something if given the chance, training me and my collogues will help us build the capacity our people and the Nation at large.
I appreciate the idea of doing the masters, I was looking for how I could improve on my knowledge in developing what I am doing in Norwegian People’s aid as a big achievement in my career, people of Sudan and the world, that is establishment tree seed centre (by Norwegian People’s Aid in collaboration with National Tree Seed Centre in Uganda, which aims at collecting processing and storing agro forestry seeds which will be used for improving the soils for agricultural production and the environment. This is an important aspect in economic development in Sudan and the world.
The training will help me and my Collogues to do research and come up with better methodologies for improving the skills of our people who are capable but lacks education in Sudan and also to learn more Experience from our collogues in the other countries on how they rich contributed to the development of their countries and the local people.
The experience will also help us build up more professionals who will be locally available to train the local people not only in agriculture but all the sectors.
Regards,
